2013 Field Day Preparation -
running under the call of VE7RAC
Presentation on the 2012 DX-Pedition to
Lesotho - made
to the Surrey Amateur Radio Club April 10, 2013.
The background was very subdued in the PowerPoint presentation - it is
way more overpowering here -
I will try and figure out how to fix it. This is about a 12 MB
file. Here is the
modified file - changed all of the
words to white from black - shows up better I think but still doesn't
look like the PPT! Download the modified
file.

The Project continues to move forward - lots happening - need to
document it some more. Look for pictures soon.
May 7, 2010 - It has been a busy six months. The
Project is coming along nicely.
Weather has turned beautiful. No contests this weekend that I know
of, but we are trying to get organized with the Olympic QSL cards.
We have print out around 20,000 and will start getting them out the
door. Thanks to my mum, Jenny for opening and categorizing all of
the ones that we have received via snail mail.
September 29, 2009 - My website is off line - anniversary of
when I set it up - so it looks like my credit card number changed and
they didn't ask for an update - interesting business model. So
when it is back up, this will be here for posterity! Please see my
update on 2010 - the Olympics, as well
as the update on my 'By The Farm' project.
August 4, 2009 - Ongoing install of the Amateur Radio
equipment in my 2010 Ford

Fusion Hybrid and the beginning of the installation of Amateur Radio
equipment - check back once in a while
July 28, 2009 - An update on what we are putting together for
submission guidelines on the expected cell phone legislation. In
addition, I have included an article from the Sun newspaper today.
July 2, 2009 - BC is preparing it's own cellular use
legislation - click here for some thoughts on a
response
May 26, 2009 - Just got back from the Radio Amateurs of Canada
Annual Board meeting in Cornwall Ontario - still a little time warped on
Tuesday. I received by FlexRadio 5000A a short time ago. I
built a Quad Core computer to control it. I've recently, with some
help I might add, installed VAC and TightVNC. I'm sitting in my
family room controlling the radio over the internal network right now.
I checked into the 40 meter net before lunch today. I'm listening
to the net right now - and it is pretty awesome. I'll continue
testing as I get time.
I have now finished all of my outgoing QSL cards and will be sending
them to the Outgoing QSL Bureau very shortly. I'm up to date on
all of my cards that I received via snail mail as well.
February 21, 2009 - Remote HF site,
Satellite shots of the site, Shipping
Can (C-Can) ideas
December 14th, 2008 Update - All of the direct PSE QSL I have
received, except for a few that I can't reconcile to my log, have been
mailed as of today. Please see here.
Jeff Franchuk, VE7HPS and I discussed dates for a return trip to
Belize. Jeff's first time, my second. We are tentatively
looking at the Easter long weekend, the week before and the week after -
April 13 is Easter Monday as a reference. I will be checking to
see if the Shack is available.
December 13th, 2008
Update - all of the Direct
QSL cards have been completed (PSE ones). They have all been
sealed and return labels put on them. All of the International
ones have had the correct postage put on them, and they will be
delivered to the post office today. I will be picking up the
postage stamps for the US ones today / tomorrow, and will get them into
the mail as soon as I can. I expect no later than Monday.
There are a couple of PSE that came to me with US postage on them, and I
will have to go across the border in the next couple of days to send
them.
Approximately 1000 Bureau QSL's have been handwritten
up. I expect to finish the Bureau QSL's over the Christmas break -
and get them to the out going QSL Bureau early in the new year.
Work has been a little stupid - but I'm expecting to be
off over the Christmas break and will aim to finish this up.
Best of the Season to you all - and Good DX
December 1st, 2008 - I will be cleaning up this
web site shortly. I will move the Belizian
experience into it own
'arm' of the web site, and start fresh. I am madly working on the
QSL cards for that trip - 4200 of them is a lot.
I now hold the calls sign VE7XS - as well as VE7ISV and
V31BG.
